Today we were taught on the few barriers of communication.
In the business world, communication plays a big part.
What I took home with me today was on the "expression" of communication.
Let us look at it this way:
If we were to say, "I WILL BURN YOU", one will think that he is going to be set on fire.
But, in actual meaning, it should be translated as "I WILL WIN YOU HANDS DOWN".
Complicated isn it?

First Day Of BM1202
Today was my first day @ NYP taking the Certificate In Business Management. Our lecturer, Ms Anne, wanted us to blog about what we learnt today, and every other day (duh!)
Our first lesson today is surprisingly on Singapore's unique language...... Singlish!!!!
Singlish is a very strong erm, language and has become a way of life.
Perhaps this may sound familiar:
Singlish : Why you so liddat?
Apparently, the correct way to phrase what it meant was:
English : Why are you behaving this way?
Cool eh? Can you guess what we learnt today?
What we learnt was to speak proper English.
This was part 1.
Part 2 was about NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming).
It was about using "reverse engineering" to communicate to the person.
Example was like: DO NOT SMOKE.
First thing everybody thought off was smoking, right?
We learnt to use words with impact to set an impression on the person.
Thats all for now.
